Using Glympse to Share Your Location
Ladies and Gentlemen, Wisco BASS 2019 Round Three is just around the corner at Big Green and we are expecting to have a live media presence larger than ever before seen at this level. With this comes challenges, and one of those challenges is being able to find anglers on the water in real time.
With the Glympse app, this is solved, and relatively easily at that.
The first thing you will need to do is log into the app. You'll need to download the app from the link above and register your phone number.
After registering your number, click the menu button on the top left of the app (three little horizontal bars). Then tap where it asks you to "Tap to set your name.".
Here you will fill out your name, which we would to see your First Name, Last Name, and WiscoBASS as shown in the screenshot to the right.
Now that your account is setup, you will see that your name appears on your personal map. Now it is time to share your location. Click the Glympse logo on the bottom right of the map screen, a small menu will appear. Click "Share Location".
In the search box at the top of the screen enter this phone number: 1-920-420-3351. This will give TRS access to seeing your location securely.
Set the share time to 8 hours. This will give us coverage for the majority of the tournament. Click the send button on the top right of the screen.
We do recommend charging your phone while the app is in use, as it will drain a little more battery than normal while broadcasting your location.
When you hit the send button, it will open your text messenger and allow you to send the link to TRS. We will be able to access your location while sharing from here on out. So good news, this should in theory be a one time process.
Now you have successfully shared your location!
In the future you will be able to just open the app, select share location, and then click the contact you selected today and set up a timeframe. It's that easy!
Now you can hail boats to your location, or give us accurate GPS coordinates in case of troubles!
